Thousands of people are trying out Vibe Coding right now, and I couldn’t be happier about it. For those who haven’t heard the term yet: Vibe Coding is all about building software in a more natural, almost playful way. Instead of being buried in syntax and debugging, you just describe or “vibe” your way through the creation process. It is less about typing code and more about expressing intent.
From Citizen Development to Vibe Coding
At Betty Blocks our mission has always been clear: empower people who aren’t traditional developers to create powerful apps. Not long ago we called this Citizen Development. Ordinary business users solving their own problems with software, without waiting in line for IT resources.
Vibe Coding feels like the natural next step in that journey. If you think about it, the shift is the same: from complexity to accessibility, from gatekeeping to democratization. With Vibe Coding the barrier to entry is lowered even further. Suddenly thousands of people who never thought of themselves as “developers” are building real applications.
Why I'm excited
For me this moment feels like a dream coming true. I’ve always believed that software shouldn’t just belong to the few who know how to code. It should be in the hands of everyone who wants to solve problems.
When I see so many people experimenting with Vibe Coding I see creativity exploding. I see employees, entrepreneurs, students, even kids turning their ideas into working apps. And they are doing it in minutes.
It reminds me of why I started Betty Blocks in the first place. The world is full of problems waiting to be solved, and the more people who can build software, the faster we will solve them.
The best part
The best part of this hype is that it proves people want to build. Give them the right tools and they will surprise you with what they create. Vibe Coding is not just a trend. It is another huge step toward a world where everyone can be a builder.
And honestly, I couldn’t be happier to see it.
