For example, when you visit our website, use our platform or apply for a job. Betty Blocks highly values your privacy and therefore makes sure to properly protect your personal data.
Betty Blocks’ headquarter is based in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, therefore we adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and all other applicable laws while processing your personal data.

Please keep in mind that Betty Blocks is an international company with various legal entities, each with their own purpose. We process your personal data for various purposes. This is dependent on context. Please find our main purposes for processing your personal data below.
Website visit
As soon as you visit our website, we process the types of personal data as detailed hereunder. The processing of this data is necessary to provide a properly working website. We also analyze this information to optimize our website and to protect our website against (DDoS) attacks.

Purchasing our platform and using our services
Via our website you will be able to contact us via our website in order to request a demonstration of our platform and/or services, request an offer for our platform and/or services and/or purchase our platform and/or services. For these purposes, we may process the following personal data:

- The type of industry you and/or your organization work in
- Invoice and payment details
- Any content of correspondence
We process this personal data because this is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you and to maintain the relationships resulting from this agreement. We store this personal data for the duration of the agreement. Certain information will be retained for a longer period if we are obliged to do so. (For example: we are required to retain invoice and payment details because of a legal tax retention period of seven years.)

Newsletter
We offer various ways to remain aware of the latest news regarding our company and services, for example by subscribing to our newsletter. For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

We use this personal data to send you our newsletter for as long as you are subscribed. The processing of this personal data is based on your consent. Unsubscribing from our newsletter is possible at any time via the link mentioned in each newsletter.
Job application
If you apply for a job with us, we also process your personal data. The personal data we process are included in your application letter, CV and/or other attachments, such as your:
- First and last name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Curriculum Vitae
- Application or motivation letter
- Salary indication
- References
- Other information which you have enclosed with your application and/or shared with us within the scope of the job application process.
The purpose of processing this personal data is to offer you a job and/or an internship at Betty Blocks. If you are hired, we will save your personal data and enter into an employment contract with you. If you are not hired, we will delete your personal data four weeks after completion of the application process. If we have your permission to retain your personal data for one year, then your data will be deleted after one year instead of four weeks. The legal basis for this processing activity is the preparation for the possible conclusion of an employment contract.
Anonymization and analyzation
The personal data we obtain, as detailed in the previous paragraph, may be anonymized and analyzed by us. This means that the personal data originally obtained by us is made anonymous in such a way that you can no longer be identified with the personal data. Such information is no longer considered personal data and therefore does not result in privacy risks. Because of this, anonymization improves the protection of your privacy.
Anonymization also allows us to analyze information and retain information for reporting purposes. For example: personal data related to a job application may be deleted by us after four weeks, but before deletion we may generate a report with general information like the number of applicants and the average working experience of the respondents. This information allows us to improve our recruitment activities.
The legal basis for this type of processing is our legitimate interest to anonymize and/or analyze information and minimizing the impact on the privacy of data subjects.
Security measures
To keep your personal data safe, Betty Blocks has implemented modern technical and organizational security measures. These security measures are aimed at preventing loss, abuse, unauthorized access or modification of personal data. Our security measures include:
- Protecting the transmission of personal information through all online channels with the use of TLS (Transport Layer Security) technology.
- Using encryption and password protection on all our equipment, including using two factor authentication where possible.
- Limiting access to personal data to personnel with a strict need-to-know.
- Retaining an ISO 27001 certification and keeping our policies up to date.
- Only using professional suppliers who also have proper security and certifications.
When can we provide your personal data to third parties?
Betty Blocks does not sell your personal data, nor do we share your personal data with any third parties without good reason and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation. The same applies to any international transfer or your personal data. Betty Blocks will only transfer your personal data to another country insofar allowed by the applicable data protection legislation.

We focus our activities on developing and providing our low-code platform. For other activities we often use carefully selected partners. For example, if you require support with building an application or if you want to completely outsource the development of your application, then we may forward your request to one of our partners.
Suppliers of Betty Blocks
Your personal data may also be processed by carefully selected and verified professional service providers with whom we cooperate to be able to offer you, our services. We do this within the framework of strict data processing conditions. Examples of these professional service providers are our hosting provider, our email service provider and/or providers of cookies or other tracking technologies.
Other third parties
Your personal data may also be processed by other third parties in incidental cases. For example, when we share your personal data with event organizations and locations within the scope of a Betty Blocks event and/or when we share your personal data with authorities or a plaintiff if we are required to do so.

Please note that this privacy statement does not apply to the data that our customers may process through the applications they build on our low-code platform. If you have any questions regarding such processing of information, we kindly refer you to the relevant party that has provided you with the application.

As a data subject, you may have certain data protection rights you can exercise towards Betty Blocks. Right to information
You may ask us if we process your personal data. If we process your personal data, you may also request additional information such as: which types of personal data we process, why we process your personal data and/or the origin of your personal data.
