The focus of AppSheet is on creating simple applications really fast. They currently don’t have a strong proposition for the Citizen Developer, which closes the gap between the business and IT, making it a bit less relevant for enterprise environments and the shortage of developers.

AppSheet’s pricing is based on the number of end-users for the applications. Pricing starts at just $5 per month for a premium account. For applications with very few users, this is great news. However, if the userbase increases, prices go up fast. The same expense reporting application would be 50x more expensive with AppSheet’s pricing model based on 5,600 users, costing over €650,000 a year.
The price for your application can vary widely, depending on the complexity and number of users for both platforms. Run the numbers so you’re sure you’re making a calculated decision.

Whenever an update is available, all applications running on the platform are automatically updated instantly, ensuring maximum security of your data.
AppSheet
Because AppSheet is hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud, the infrastructure inherits the information security baselines and standard operating environments of Microsoft Azure. Azure provides an array of compliance certifications including ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRamp, SOC1, and SOC2, as well as country-specific standards like IRAP.
Enhanced security is only available on the ‘pro’ and ‘business’ plans. Automatic platform security updates aren’t available for all applications. In some cases, you need to update manually.
